1.Kampong Phluk (wet season focus)

Leaving  your accommodation siem reap with A/C vehicle/ TukTuk and tour guide on a scenic drive 45minutes  to Kampong Phluk floating village, the journey passes  local houses, local market, doted palm trees and rice fields glowing in dawn light.

-First stop at Rolous Market(morning tour), explore a local market, the fishes from the Tonle sap and vegetables grow by locals and taste Num Krok(coconut-crisp rice cakes) beside 9th-century kilns.
-Second stop: boat approach and discover the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Kampong Phluk.

The season magic:

Wet season (July-February) water rises to within 1 meter of houses, turning streets into canals, cruise through Kampong phluk stilts houses and fishing community, floating villages alive with river comerce and flooded mangrove forests(UNESCO Biosphere) with reflections creating ”emerald labyrinths”, visit Buddhist pagoda, the students raw the boat to schools l. see villagers fish intensively, floating market sell shrimp and lotus stems and see where the people have courageously adapted to some of most unimaginable conditions, all with big smile on their faces. .Dry season (March-June): is a crucial time, as the water levels start to recede and present a unique opportunity for tourists experience a new perspective. Although the picturesque landscape of the floating community may lose some of its charm during this time, visitors have a chance to immerse themselves into the daily life of the villagers living in the dried season. the dry season in KOMPONG Phluk may not be ideal time to visit for those seeking postcard –perfect photos, but it offers a chance to witness a facet of village’s daily life that is not typically seen, as they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
